Mangaluru Central and Mangaluru Junction are in different parts of the city, and a driver waiting at the wrong one means a delay for everyone. Two stations, two different areas

Mangalore is served by two main railway stations:

• Mangaluru Central (station code MAQ) is close to the city centre, near Hampankatta and Attavar.
• Mangaluru Junction (station code MAJN) is at Padil near Kankanady, away from the central market area.

Which one your train uses depends on the route. Some trains start or end at Mangaluru Central, while others only pass through Mangaluru Junction. This is why two people travelling to "Mangalore" on different trains can end up at different stations.

How to check which station is on your ticket

Before you book a cab, look at your ticket or booking confirmation:

1. Find the boarding or destination station listed on the ticket
2. Look for the station code: MAQ for Central, MAJN for Junction
3. Note the train number as well

Tip: When you book, send the train number and station code together. That removes any confusion about where your driver should wait.
